Thou art the Mistress of Jubilation, the Queen of the Dance, the Mistress of Music, the Queen of the Harp Playing, the Lady of the Choral Dance, the Queen of Wreath Weaving, the Mistress of Inebriety Without End.
This column is located at Hatshepsut´s temple in Luxor.
It shows the face of Hathor, who was thought to be the wife (or mother) of Horus.
She was a goddess of art, music, dancing, wine, beer and patron goddess of entertainers of all sorts. She was also a goddess of love, later being identified with the Greek Aphrodite.
She is often represented as a cow, or as a woman with the head or ears of a cow, sometimes suckling a child, stressing her fertile, procreative nature.
